This guy can spit.  I have never heard of Listener.  But I am so glad that I have seen this video.  His Americana voicing of the words that he so ineloquently projects is something that is far from the spoken word that is what resides in the memories of most of us.

MARK YOU CALENDARS

The Chisomo Idea Music Blog is planning an epic event for the night of February 18th, 2012.  Mark your calendars!  Details will be released as the event gets closer!  We are very excited to begin this annual event and will be using it as fundraiser for the Soccer Academy being built by The Chisomo Idea in Chinsapo, Malawi as well as an introduction to our music blog for the San Diego community.

San Diego’s power went out yesterday.  And as it did, I was unable to finish the last minute of YOUTH LAGOON’s song “Montana.”  From the debut album “The Year of Hibernation”, the song is a beautifully constructed buildup, with haunting piano from the beginning to end.  As the mechanic percussion noises drift in and the song builds, my reservations are gone as I begin to hear the whole picture.  Being able to listen to the rest of the song, now that electricity is back in San Diego county, I can’t wait to see what comes out next from the Youth Lagoon.
